The Home Farewell Vet required a full digital transformation to modernise their online presence while continuing to rely on existing Wix-based systems for bookings, invoicing, and domain management.
We redesigned and rebuilt the entire website from scratch using custom HTML, CSS and PHP, before deploying it into a fully manageable WordPress CMS. The final build consists of 30+ pages, carefully structured to improve usability, performance, and long-term scalability.
The result is a modern, professional and scalable platform that enhances the brand’s online presence while maintaining full operational continuity across existing systems.
The design direction focused on creating a calming, warm and bespoke premium feel, carefully tailored to reflect the sensitive nature of the service.
We created an extended colour palette using inspiration from their existing logo, ensuring brand continuity while elevating the overall visual identity. Typography, spacing, and layout were refined to deliver a clean, accessible and reassuring user experience across all devices.

The primary challenge was preserving the client's existing Wix infrastructure whilst simultaneously moving the public-facing website away from the Wix platform.
Wix is designed as an all-in-one ecosystem and offers limited flexibility when integrating external websites with its internal booking and invoicing services. Standard migration approaches would have required the client to abandon existing systems or accept significant compromises in functionality and user experience.

To overcome these challenges, Verus IT Solutions developed a bespoke integration strategy combining custom development, API integration, and advanced DNS management.
Using the Wix API and authenticated client credentials, we developed custom scripts that allowed us to integrate the existing booking functionality directly into a newly designed booking experience. This enabled visitors to interact with a fully branded booking system without being exposed to Wix's default styling or limitations.
To preserve invoicing functionality, we implemented a carefully structured subdomain architecture. Dedicated subdomains were configured specifically for Wix-managed services, allowing invoicing and supporting systems to continue operating independently while the primary website remained hosted on our infrastructure.
Advanced DNS management was then used to route traffic appropriately between services. Through custom DNS configuration and routing controls, we successfully overcame Wix's default restrictions, ensuring that users experienced a seamless journey between the website, booking platform, and invoicing systems.
This approach allowed the client to retain the business tools they relied upon while benefiting from a completely redesigned and independently hosted website.
We also built custom PHP plugins for WordPress to manage dynamic content such as testimonials and structured content modules.
